This book ‘Tourism Economics’ has been prepared to fulfill the curriculum requirements of the
students of Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) Sixth Semester of Pokhara University and Fifth
Semester of Tribhuvan University. Moreover, the book is equally useful for the BHM of Purbanchal
University and other travel and tourism programs of various universities. It is an attempt to capture
the need of comprehensive, student and teacher friendly and straightforward contents within a text
book of Tourism Economics.
In recent time, Tourism Economics has been established itself as a distinct branch of knowledge. Its
emergence and expansion is marked as the increasing importance of economic analysis also in
Tourism and Hospitality sector. As a result, most of the universities are offering courses of Tourism
Economics in sector. Therefore, one of the most important purposes of this book is to make tourism
economics study simple and easiest way in an easily accessible and relatively comprehensive form.
Consequently, this book provides a complete overview of tourism economics with its analytical
methods and techniques. Every concept is simply explained and backed up by easy illustration.
Fresh insights on tourism economics are provided by some case studies. At the same time, the book
