Understanding how to lead people and how they behave in an organization is important because most people work for an organization at some point in their lives and are affected–both positively and negatively–by their experiences in it. So, the study of Leadership and Organizational Behavior is an essential aspect of mastering any management discipline. An understanding of leadership and organizational behavior can help people to enhance the positive while reducing the negative, effects of working in an organization.  As we know, many changes are occurring in workplaces. Organizations are becoming knowledge-based. Globalization has become a mantra for corporate survival. Developments in information technology and networking systems such as mobile phones, email, and the internet have challenged traditional organizational structures. Organizations are looking for people with a high level of competency and multi-skills to perform knowledge-based jobs. Taking into account these challenges facing our organizations, this book has been prepared to familiarize business students, academicians, and practicing managers with the concepts, practices, and developments in the areas of leadership and organizational behavior.

This book “Leadership and Organizational Behavior” is primarily written according to the new curriculum prescribed by the Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University, for the students of BBA/BBM. The purpose of this book is to present the new concepts, principles, theories, and practices of leadership and organizational behavior clearly understandable to the students.
